BILSTEIN at Techno Classica 2025: Perfect suspension technology for classic cars and historic racing cars - thyssenkrupp Bilstein GmbH
Essen, 18 March 2025 – From April 9 to 13, 2025, Techno Classica in Essen will once again be the place to be for classic car enthusiasts. In Hall 3, BILSTEIN will be presenting its high-performance suspension and shock absorber range for classic cars, youngtimers and historic motorsport vehicles. Highlights include a replica of the Porsche 911 SC Group 4, in which Walter Röhrl put up an absolutely brilliant show at the 1981 San Remo Rally, and a beautiful NSU TT from 1969.
If you are interested in shock absorbers for classic cars, there is traditionally no way around BILSTEIN: whether you are looking for a near-series replacement or a performance upgrade - BILSTEIN offers the optimum suspension and shock absorber solution for numerous classic cars.
Perfect damping for classic vehicles of all makes
The successful BILSTEIN B6, for example, offers an improved series replacement for high demands. And if you want to lower your classic car, the BILSTEIN B8 is the ideal damper: the specially shortened high-performance dampers ensure the necessary spring preload of lowering or sports springs and thus support a sporty, dynamic driving experience. Also sports and coilover suspensions are available for selected models, while historic motorsport suspensions round off the range.
Partner for German classic car H-approval
Converting shock absorbers without losing your H-approval in Germany? No problem: BILSTEIN has been offering shock absorbers with sporty tuning since the 1960s. That is why it is still possible today to retrofit BILSTEIN shock absorbers for vehicles with H registration plates - without losing the H registration.
Special customer request (KSW): Individual solutions for rare vehicles
Shocks no longer available? That's no problem either! BILSTEIN's Customer Special Requests („Kundensonderwunsch“: KSW) department is responsible for special requests. Here, shock absorbers that are no longer available are revised or rebuilt - with individual specifications if required. This keeps historic vehicles on the road with original or optimized suspension tuning.
A little thank you at the BILSTEIN stand!
BILSTEIN shock absorber experts will be on hand to answer any questions car fans in Essen may have about suspension technology. As a little thank you, all visitors will receive an exclusive gift at the end of their personal suspension and product consultation. Interested parties can call up the corresponding code in advance on the campaign website

Porsche 911 SC Rallye Group 4 and NSU TT
In addition to high-performance suspension technology, the BILSTEIN stand in Hall 3 will also be showcasing absolute classics from motorsport and sports car history. For example, a replica of the Porsche 911 SC Group 4 in which Walter Röhrl and co-pilot Christian Geistdörfer put up an absolutely brilliant show against the much more powerful four-wheel-drive competition at the 1981 San Remo Rally. With BILSTEIN B6 shock absorbers in rally asphalt tuning and 330 hp, the G-model is in no way inferior to the original.
The second highlight on the BILSTEIN stand: a beautiful NSU TT, built in 1969. The classic car has been extensively restored and features rare original bodywork extensions from Abt Tuning, which are based on the racing cars from the European Hillclimb Championship of the time. The contemporary NSU, which weighs 673 kilograms, is road-legal and has an equally roadworthy sports suspension from BILSTEIN.
